I like to play the game “I don’t know”.
Come up with answers for why people do things,
Myself included.
See how close I can get to the truth
When the truth eventually frees itself
From the confines of the illusion.
And I find myself in a state of wrong,
of course the answer will always be “I should have known.”
So much guesswork paraded as truth is merely a fictional cloak to keep fear and ignorance at bay. Worse than that it is used as a way to muzzle the Actual Truth.
Frequently cognitive dissonance prevents people for actually hearing what is being said to them if it’s too uncomfortable for their fixed ideas and prejudices.
“You should stop words and letters, and learn to withdraw and reflect on yourself. When you do so, your body and mind will naturally fall away, and your original Buddha nature will appear.” – Dogen.

I’m chuckling … could be someone I know … she likely the most surprised to hear this come out out-loud!

I instinctively avoid know-alls, always did, even as a child. Deafening bad vibes.
