Too Paranoid (Republished)
TOO PARANOID
He started whispering to me one night
From the wall beside my bed
Said he needed my help
That the secret police
Were controlling his thoughts
With microwave radiation
So that he wrote poems
Which they could use if they ever needed
Evidence of his insanity
And this is one of them
Which he was too paranoid to write down
So he got me to do it for him
After all, he says
I live in a democracy
And it’s quite safe here

Amusing but with a more serious undertone.

A sad and painful reality for some and their family. Well written.

Thank you, Kim. I am still finding new interpretations of this since I first wrote it in 2007.

It is? Who said so? Quick, Ben Naga, are you one of them?

” Ben Naga, are you one of them?”
I could have denied it of course but could you trust my assertion?

I could tell you but then I’d have to kill you. And “they” DO say that ignorance is bliss.

Yes, I have received your poem. Super poem, thank you. And this is indeed a good runner up, Ben. Well, it will be in the que for another page.
