Flight Of Fancy

FLIGHT OF FANCY

I met you in the dappled Springtime
Radiant with blossom and birdsong
Ah yes – But time flies like the wind

We courted through dancing Summer
A passion that fair spanned the skies
Ah yes – But time flies like the wind

Ripening Autumn brought composure
And a deep resounding companionship
Ah yes – But time flies like the wind

And what shall I say of bleak Winter?
Chill reminder that all things must pass
Remember – Time flies like the wind

Remember – While hope springs eternal
Still our dreams will remain mañanas
And fruit flies … They like bananas

Circular Passage

CIRCULAR PASSAGE

In breath then out breath
Thus Summer begets Winter
Which reciprocates

Open Secret

OPEN SECRET

Droplets a-sparkle
Wink in the sudden sunshine
Nothing more to say

Warm Caress

WARM CARESS

Summer shower dusts
Windows with tiny raindrops
A delicate touch

Runes

RUNES

This wintry scenescape
Darkness and lightness abound
As for tommorow
Spring, summer, autumn for sure
As for their contents who knows?

Seasoned Just So

SEASONED JUST SO

Spring waters flow forth
Now after Now after Now
Summer, Autumn, Wint…

Five Day Song Challenge: Day Two

Audrey Dawn – The Oldest Daughter & Red Headed Sister suggested I address myself to meeting this challenge. Two difficulties arise: I. as long time readers will know, I have already posted a number of my favourites so they aren’t eligible; 2. I am by necessity limited to tracks which are freely available on line. In retaliation I decided not to further restrain myself to sticking solely to tracks with lyrics.

2. Arthur Honegger, Pastorale d’été.

SUMMER DAWN

Cloudy billows pinky-blue
Sharp-eared soundscape of birdsong
Lost to the moment

Promiscuity

PROMISCUITY

Many have a favourite from among the seasons
And each proponent has of course their reasons

To be matchless some aver a vernal evening’s moon
While others find it’s Summer makes them swoon
Some folk will only fall for Autumn’s ripe delights
Supreme for some is snuggling up on Winter’s nights

But why not embrace every new season and learn
To enthrone it as if a passionate lover in its turn
Become more open, adopt a polygamous attitude
And receive its gifts with heartfelt joy and gratitude
