Morning Sitting: Double haiku

MORNING SITTING

Three times three is nine
Three nines are twenty-seven
Pigeon on repeat

In the far distance
An American war bird
Slashes the still air

Darkness: Shadorma

DARKNESS

Whenever
Eclipse is total
I retreat
To the sky
Close all the doors and windows
And watch the clouds

Wilder Than Us

WILDER THAN US

“All Is One” we’re told
Check it out – Little required
Silence and stillness
Lead to pastures beyond our
Wildest imaginations

Waterfall: Shadorma

WATERFALL

We so like
To stop, close these eyes
Stay stock-still
Motionless
Lean into the sound until
Eyes are forgotten

Attention

ATTENTION

Seeking silence found
Outside, inside, not silence
But music instead

Still … For Now: Four By Six

STILL … FOR NOW

The vodka is still bubbling
With a stir from time to time
Gradual fermentation
Then one day soon … Fireworks!

Crepuscule

CREPUSCULE

Silence and small sounds
Nestle like peas in a pod
Sharing is good – Thanks

Breath Of Life

BREATH OF LIFE

Breathing
Sat watching
This thoughtbubble
Expand and expand
Without breath of mine
Exhaled in this current jot
Of unquantified spacetime
(Or not consciously at least)
Expanding and expanding
Till jolted awake and “POP”
That thoughtbubble
Sat watching
Breathing

Morning Ritual

MORNING RITUAL

Seated cross-legged
Steam rising from a white cup
Dried leaves in water

Cluttered

CLUTTERED

Subtly elusive,
Uncomplicated moments!
You sit here waiting.
