Take Off
TAKE OFF
Taking off
Like a butterfly
Taking off
Like a startled starling
Taking off
A well known character
Taking off
Like a jet fighter
Taking off
A burdensome disguise
Taking off
A shirt, a skirt, our underclothing
Taking off
Into the unknown
Taking on now
Disguise in love with you
Coupling And Decoupling
COUPLING AND DECOUPLING
Power she had in mind, in body too
He also had his power, duly exerted
And weaknesses (carefully disguised)
They once so hip, but now replaced
Following their gradual disrobement
As together all’s well that ends well
USA USA USA You Were Saying?

USA USA USA YOU WERE SAYING?
These self-appointed slick lords
Never as cool as they’d like
Foreverly seeking applause
In the forever even dragons
Left entertaining archons
Have demons of their own
Riding the American nightmare
Jet and ivory – non consensual
The wizard is behind your eyes
In the absence of actual presence
The child imagines companions
Drums up sugar plum fairies or …
Pays for encore after encore
Ends up head in a basket
Soul sold to the soulless
Carries on, on and on resonating
Aleatorically, unapologetically
Their cross to bear
