Just Be(cause)
JUST BE(CAUSE)
Looking into things
(S)he realised I am Trump!
Time for a rethink …
Did I have a hand in this?
And what do I seek to learn?
Earlier in between showers
(S)he went into the garden
(With not a Maud in sight)*
Ladybird, ladybird fly away home
Your house is on fire, children all gone
Going, going, going, gone
India told me once just be
Give the wheel away
But not to just anyone
Don’t be so laxy#
Open the canister, get to the man inside
Quiet and thoughtful of others
Not the fly God
Nor the shy god
Believe and you will be transformed

Banishing Pandemonium
BANISHING PANDEMONIUM
She ordered her various selves
To quieten down, line up and let
Each one take its turn at the mic
While the others listened politely
Overwrought
OVERWROUGHT
Simply slowing down
Is far more important
Than we are generally
Encouraged to notice
Once having done so
Is it not then our duty
To try to pass it on?
Intuition Tuition
INTUITION TUITION
Still the mind chatter
Pay attention and listen
Silence speaks volumes
A Word To The Wise II
A WORD TO THE WISE II
Worry, worry, worry
Kills you in a hurry
So let things be
And you will see
More days
And those days
Will also sweeter be

Aware
AWARE
Aware, aware has my flitty mind gone?
Aware, aware can he be?
With his years cut short and his dreams cut long
Aware, aware can he be?
To A Friend
TO A FRIEND
Only this morning
I read something about gratitude.
It seems as if consciously looking
for things to be grateful for
in our present moment
may be a kind of pass key
if not a magic key
that can unlock us
and free us
from negative emotions
replacing them with acceptance
peace, calm, even happiness
or a reawakened joy in being.
O, to be able to remember this
especially when I need it most!
Reading your words here
and reflecting on them
it occurred to me
that sensitivity/insensitivity
is intimately linked to mindfulness.
Much insensitivity arises
not from deliberate malice
but simply from an unexamined habit
of not leaving quiet spaces
within the mind
to observe the surroundings
both external and internal.
You yourself appear to me
to frequently live within
just that sort of space.
Is there not in fact a reciprocity
whereby any given group
even a very small one
influences its members and is in turn
influenced by its co-creators?
