That Earnest Plea
THAT EARNEST PLEA
Eternal longing
Prays the long and short of it
Will arrive shortly
Unrequited
UNREQUITED
That word
Unrequited
Oceans
Deserts
Encompassing
That pain
Those yearnings
Those learnings
The Mourning After
THE MOURNING AFTER
It came around, a brimming jug
With a hearty invitation to chugalug
Alongside a smile, a longer sigh, a hug
Resolved to be careful, yet it seems easily mislead
Familiar mistake; I wake with banging head
And who’s this stranger in my bed?

The Mine Field
THE MINE FIELD
How hard it can be
That learning to trust yourself
And then … Another!?!
