Mo ‘n’ I
MO ‘n’ I
You’re seventy now
Who’d have thought it?
I recall our twenties
Here we are again
After all these years
Sharing an evening
Baring naked hearts
Across a gin or two
And a tear or two
Your conclusion
Too needy to share
Alone now and happy
My own conclusion
Can’t call myself happy
Contented feels more comfortable
My lengthy searching
Taught me call expectation
The mother of disappointment
We’ve given it all up
That bouncy folderol
Not born here to be loved
As you hear me out
Unchallenged or judged
As I you my dear one
Let’s do what’s next
Whether we like it or not
Each a poet with a spanner
HOW DO I KNOW IF I’M HAPPY?
Inner wind in a speedy world.
How Do I Know If I’m Happy?
If we are neither unhappy nor indifferent, then we are happy.
The nice feeling of being happy comes about when everything we are doing drops away.
If we are neither unhappy nor indifferent then we are happy – but there may not be a feeling of being happy.
The feeling of being unhappy usually comes from the inner energies rising in the body from just below the navel area. We feel out of place, and to rebalance and relax, these energies are to be taken down to just below the navel by using the subtle breath exercise (see video below).
Try it and see.
Conscious chanting or singing does the same thing.
Being happy is being in tune in body and mind … !
