Spring Messengers
SPRING MESSENGERS
Daffodils whisper
Quietly beneath the wind
Who will hear their voice?
Spring Fragrance
SPRING FRAGRANCE
Blooms proliferate
Fresh threads join the timeless web
Reseeding itself
Terminal II
TERMINAL II
He does the shopping now
Getting out is too much
But we don’t mention that
At least there are flowers
The new snowdrops are out
As the fresh year spins on
Words like splendour, wonder
Set amongst all this pain
Joy In Bloom (British Summertime II)
JOY IN BLOOM
Busy buzzy bees
Rainbow colours all over
June is busting out!
Absence
ABSENCE
It’s fine to see here on this warm October day
The orange of maize heads drying on that roof
Reflecting in the marigolds below
To sit among the rocks and read
Watching butterflies hover in the sun
But missing is the smell of new mown grass
That scents the air of far off England’s summer
