Two I’s Had I

TWO I’S HAD I

One vanished
Banished
Into memory

T’other survived
Lived
To tell our tale

Bi-

BI-

Angel and demon.
Yes, two for the price of one!
So who can resist?

Captivated

CAPTIVATED

Pesky boundaries
Are part of the illusion
If not the whole think

Siamese Twins

SIAMESE TWINS

The big mouth
Opens and closes
0 – 1 – 0 – 1 – 0 – 1
Binary encoded with
Digitalis sleight of hand

Oh one no one I wonder why
And abhorring vacuity
Jabbers ad nauseam
Spurts forth
Yin – yang
Male – female
Expands exponentially
Borderless boundlessness
Begets and begets and begets
On – off – alive – dead – alive – o
Cockles and muscles
White – black
(Yellow – brown)
Up – down
In – out
Left – right
Right – wrong

Love and fear
Opening and closing
He loves me, she loves me not
The eternal primal dance
Performed within each heart

From Another Place

FROM ANOTHER PLACE

The screech of yet another interminable goods train
“What aliens we are,” the heart laments
From its hovel of guilt, anguish and pain
While mind, raised on Cage and Stockhausen
Stands there, stock-still, bliss-struck, sighs, “Listen …”

I watched this video on YouTube, which was filmed and uploaded by Tincup. (https://tincup68.wordpress.com/about-this-blog/) Then I made a decision to relax, let go of the thinking process as best I could and let myself get drawn into experiencing it as deeply and fully as possible.

“From Another Place” is what emerged.

Tightrope Walkers

TIGHTROPE WALKERS

We walk a precarious path
………Strung ‘twixt two unfathomed depths

On the one hand the passive surrender
………To bland acquiescence and sleep

On the other the embattled (however illusory) duality
………A cut-throat struggle ‘tween “Them” and “Us”

Review with me now our obsessions
………So faithfully reflecting
………………The brazen societal madnesses
………………………Their insanity perpetuates

Our stubborn self-determination
………Through the transgression of their norms

The myriad ways we develop
………To cry above the bubbling hubbub
………………Our mighty resounding NO!!!

No to slow death by assimilation
………No to repression through tolerance

No to watching our hopes and dreams
………Reshaped as marketing opportunities

No to their invitations
………To undertake “heroic feats
………………Of acquisition and consumption”*

We pledge not to fall into gluttony
………We pledge love and forgiveness despite

We pledge to recall the unity
………That lies behind this shadow play
………………This puppetry of light and dark

We walk a precarious path

Raga (craving, attachment), dosa (aversion) and moha (ignorance) are the causes of our misery.
