ponderworthy ?
“You should stop words and letters, and learn to withdraw and reflect on yourself. When you do so, your body and mind will naturally fall away, and your original Buddha nature will appear.” – Dogen.

Beautifully reflected … may the condor’s patience prevail …

As a condor (even though currently inhabiting a male carcass) I can but agree while attempting to soar and survey rather than get too mixed up in all the bickering.

I believe each of us harbors an inner eagle and an inner condor … circumstances bring out one or the other, and whichever is soaring for the most of us at a given time is a collective force difficult for any one of us to counter …

I can see the reality before us that The Path of the Eagle has been soared for Ages and only now can the Flight of the Condor be noticed. For the truth seems that the Flight of the Condor has always been there to aid and supplement the Path of the Eagle. The Eagles are strong and independent and fiercely loyal to their own kind. But the Eagle must hunt and aggressively take for themselves. It is a cold and hard lifestyle to maintain.
The Flight of the Condor is much more submissive to the Will of Others, for only in the scraps of what’s leftover does the Condor find its sustenance. The Condors have learned to live with less, constantly taking words and actions for not being Eagle-y enough. Carrying on as Condors do, knowing that one day those against them would be the very sustenance they needed to carry on.
And oh how the tides have changed. For the Condors are left to pick up the scraps of society when everyone is scared about a global pandemic. The Condors keep society floating while the Eagles hunt and prey for the opportunity to turn things back to the way they once were. But perhaps they never will go back because for the short time the pandemic has been scaring people into a different way of living, the Eagles have awakened to see that they aren’t as powerful and in control as they once thought they were.
Truly the tables have turned and the Eagle and Condor can see eye to eye. How high they shall soar together is a matter of time to tell, a story I am excited to witness!

Thanks for sharing this with us, Ben. Certainly something to ponder. May Eagle/Condor – male/female – someday come together in balance (so to speak). Yin Yang….

There is yet hope. But true progress is no spectator sport either.
