Fully acknowledged
This terminality of ours
It’s about our value

It’s about what we’re worth
And uncovering who devised
The scale that measured it so

It’s about fighting or giving up
It’s about fighting for life
It’s like being like water

It’s about laughing daily
In the face of death
It’s about life

And dancing
Life and dancing
Until the end

And beyond

About Ben Naga

The Spirit that graces me with its passing has no name and stems not from thoughts and words, though it gathers them up as it flows, but from feeling.

  1. Yes–“Life and dancing
    Until the end

    And beyond”

    I like that.

  2. This is extremely poignant. And it’s also uplifting, even in the face of what you’re going through. Beautifully written, Ben.

  4. I’ve gone back to catch up on a couple of missed posts. Coincidentally, I read this right after reading Questionable Surroundings, and this seems like the answer to an existential question posed in the other. (Especially the first two stanza here.) And the closing here… recognizing that some things are out of our hands and making the most of the moments we have.
