Autumn Pause

AUTUMN PAUSE

In between brief showers
Blazing sunlit moments
Illuminate the path
As I hurry along.

Leaf after golden leaf
Attracts my attention.
Should I count them? Compare?
Life is too short for that.

About Ben Naga

The Spirit that graces me with its passing has no name and stems not from thoughts and words, though it gathers them up as it flows, but from feeling.

  1. Autumn leaves
    The path ahead obscured.
That is why I am so late!

  2. At what instant does a rotting leaf become something else?

  3. I really like this, Ben. Those sunlit moments between showers, and the countless beautiful leaves….and we would attend to each one but must hurry on. So much depth in these few lines!

  4. Life is too short to compare (even though we do), and it’s too short to hurry through (even though we do that, too). Love your poem, Ben, and I know that I want to slow down and take time to smell the roses. ๐Ÿ™‚ โค
