Which one do you mean was supposed to be a the break: the monastic life or family life?

The monastic – a rest from emotional and physical entanglements. But as I said, can’t imagine wanting such a break. We can have a balanced family life along with a deeply spiritual one.

I agree. But such familial/spiritual harmony doesn’t always happen though, I have found.
