COMPASSION

Poor rich Donald
Had a heart once too

But has not yet
Found the courage

To admit it is broken
And embark upon

The painful journey
Required to mend it

  1. Your compassion is indeed showing, Ben. Loving kindness. Your poem reminds us that we mustn’t hate the person, just the conditions and the actions. Perhaps someday he will find his heart again. Heaven knows what kind of upbringing he had in the rich, materialistic world in which he was born. It’s all he knows…. Sometimes I see him as a scared little boy who is acting out – as we all might, considering….
