Megalove

MEGALOVE

The soul of a bird in its cage of feathers
Cries a call to arms, to wakefulness
While commercial megadeath cascades
Over castles really fit for little else but burning
And Pleistocene banks full of terse acolytes
To the tin and paper goddesses they serve
Over uniformed power sharks looking to get silly in the jaws of death
While in the Wimbledon nuclear Olympics standoff
Love all becomes fuck all

Sing ho for High Art with its political comment and its moralising
The Critic, the Commentator, the Organiser, the Analyst
That rapes the multivalency of is and gelds the lily
One green brushstroke and an innocent landscape framed
Geranium still-life interface/acetate juniper seascape
… He casts his bread like oil upon troubled waters
The lonesome storyteller who fears the signs all point to silence
Between the tenderness so mistreated and the sparks of thunder
Mistaking mystery for strength in his quest for love

Who taught his mind in this fashion? The I/brain to be/me?
Whatever I am that snatch and scratch at rags of ego
A wise crazy man with a crazy wise woman
Who loves his feet and legs
And other parts of his anatomy not normally on public show
Remember me, she said
In the joining that provides two stable points
In place of the aimless circling of one
And love liquifies the soul

  1. This is powerfully written. Love how you bring it together with
A wise crazy man with a crazy wise woman
Who loves his feet and legs
And other parts of his anatomy not normally on public show
    Remember me, she said
In the joining that provides two stable points
In place of the aimless circling of one
    And love liquifies the soul
