OBLIQUITY II

how the waitress gets the tip
when it’s the cook
who produced the meal

About Ben Naga

The Spirit that graces me with its passing has no name and stems not from thoughts and words, though it gathers them up as it flows, but from feeling.

  1. But it’s the waitstaff who have to deal with the public. And the cook makes many meals at a time. I know, because I have been in all shoes – owned a restaurant, years ago. You have a point though 😉

  4. My girlfriend and I went out to lunch last week and she told me that they plan to have the gratuity added to the check so they can split it with the cooks and other staff. My niece works in a coffee shop and the tips are gathered in a jar and distributed in their checks at the end of the week.
