“You should stop words and letters, and learn to withdraw and reflect on yourself. When you do so, your body and mind will naturally fall away, and your original Buddha nature will appear.” – Dogen.

I have no real problem with the ones I agree with, just the other kind. 😉

Agreed. However, quite frequently what may appear to be the flow is no more than what is conventional, popular, fashionable or convenient. The true flow may present itself more subtly and not be easily discerned by the superficial observer.

It all depends on the ocean and the atmosphere we’re in. Stormy or calm seas. 🙂

The calmer we are the more likely we are to see what is going on beneath the surface. 🙂

I’m not sure if you mean what I’m interpreting from your words, but I think about this a LOT. We protect species, enact clean air legislation, women’s rights to their own bodies, etc. Then these laws are simply reversed one day when enough politicians decide they don’t like them. All that effort, and for what? To realize, I presume, that activism is at the heart of any true democracy, the way that mindfulness is core to any effective spiritual life practice. Nice post.

I am always amused at how similar we use words.. Act. Action, Auction, Activate. and Activism .. One slip of a letter here and there meaning totally different.. Guess that goes for the Activist too..
