Self-reliance

SELF-RELIANCE

Relied on them
Then discovered they are crooked
Must have your own back

About Ben Naga

The Spirit that graces me with its passing has no name and stems not from thoughts and words, though it gathers them up as it flows, but from feeling.

    • One of the qualities I enjoy in poetry is its capacity to (possibly) say several different things at the same time. The tags here thicken the broth, and also recently I have been reflecting on betrayal and fidelity, in marriage and friendship, and I like like the imagery conjured by the phrase “I have your back”. I didn’t think of bankers when writing this but they are certainly (un)worthy candidates too. (But “candid”? Now that may be open to debate, I think. 😉 )
