Making The Grass Green
MAKING THE GRASS GREEN
Busy busy waiting
Quietly and patiently
At times less than patiently
Bravely working tirelessly
To change the world
You wait, you work in vain
For it is not this bustling
Gimme gimme world
That will ever change
But the perceiver who will
At last perceive the joke
And agree to letting go

Oh, my, you have hit the nail of my week right on the head! Just finished a conversation with a friend about this very topic… It’s so much nicer to be doing that letting go in the company of beautiful souls – thank you, Ben! 🙂

LOL…we are having the same thoughts…eventually you have to stop dreaming and just let it all go and do what you can with what little time remains 🙂

I’ve been trying to nudge you towards some study of Taoism for a while. Try http://www.sacred-texts.com/tao/index.htm. There are lots of worse ways to spend your time. 😀 Nice to see you here, too.

I have been out of commission lately for some reason, but I am glad to be back here. In letting go is engagement, and in engagement is the reason for being–or something like that. But this American election is difficult to let go of even though I know that all change in stable society is usually incremental and that Obama will not have the strength to reverse the slide of too much of the middle class into poverty. There is, as usual, wisdom in this poem.

Any wisdom you detect is, naturally, only here because you perceive it. 😉
