If Man But New

If man but knew
Man knew but
If …
If man but knew,
New Man!
But –
New man!
If –
Man knew!
But if man knew … ?
But if man knew
Man knew man knew
Man knew,
If man but knew.

About Ben Naga

The Spirit that graces me with its passing has no name and stems not from thoughts and words, though it gathers them up as it flows, but from feeling.

  1. Ha! Now I want to know what, “if man but knew”? πŸ˜‰

  2. ..the woman would be happier!

    • Naughty! πŸ˜›

You are quite right, of course, on that intimate personal level, but the poem is really meant to address “Man” in the sense of humanity. (but you knew that, didn’t you? πŸ™‚ )

  3. If a man could know, then he would, but then if he didn’t know, then he wouldn’t, but in knowing the not know, the not knowing would show that he truly knew, and where would that leave us?

  4. this is kinda funny
    reading it at least πŸ™‚
    like a tongue-twister
